Leadership and the Wall

Upon extreme pressure and stress, big rocks are crashed down into finer stones. With the same condition, small stones build up into bigger and stronger rocks. Similarly, this phenomenon can apply to me to become an effective leader.
Since I joined PSYSC, I chose to become a leader. However, the only question that doubts my decision is, could it be possible that a person like me, shy and fence sitter would become a good leader?
As I took the journey to search for the answer, I walked the ways whole but the paths were never smooth. I had to overcome my weaknesses and pressures to meet my responsibilities. Failures and mistakes crash me down.
It all started when I joined school science camp as a camper. I wondered how people can deliver fun facts of science to others. Filled with astonishment, I grabbed the opportunity to become a staff of the school science camp. I found the reality behind success, then and there, I witnessed and experienced the hardship and challenges of it.
To become part of the regional council is a big pleasure for me. Though I have doubts, I opted to try for this opportunity. Committee immersion for instance made a great impact and the tasks and responsibilities though tiresome are always enjoyable.
With PSYSC, I found the answer to my question. I could be an excellent leader as long as I choose to be one, no matter the circumstances. Mistakes and failures are painful but after some time, these would only be a collection of experiences that would mold us to be even better leaders than we are now.

Thank you ma'am. :) These essays are the works of our regional council. They are high school student officers who attended our Leadership Training Seminar 2010 at Tagaytay. :)
